Cycle 1396

Manage to see the top of the build now. The pipes are too close together, and hard to debug, if they are near to the rooms. Near the top, the meteor shower will keep punching down and destroying the base, and also cause carbon dioxide to fill all over the place. Steel is in rare supply. Refinement is not done all the time. Wonder why? Not easy to build the top if it is half way crowded with non-oxygenated air, especially carbon dioxide. Very tricky. Need speed to repair the top. Needless to stay, I am abandoning this base and try again.

It is quite easy to reach this stage after creating more food supply. But the game becomes less and less interesting as electricity cables run all over the place with power throughput not being efficient. Got to try all over again.

Cycle 658

Well I have reached cycle 658. But I intend to retire this colony because i have too few food and it seems to be a not-optimised build. I have managed to figure out that I should use natural gas geysers to redistribute the energy to all the plants. The other generators are not really useful. I will probably spend more time on making bristle berries. Someone said on the forum, I should just leave the natural plants alone. We shall see about that. Collecting slime to feed the mushrooms and risk getting sick is a no go for me.

Managed to reach cycle 557 when my duplicants end up with no food and need to run all over the place to get slime. Maybe it is time to farm some puffs for endless slime. I probably reuse the same map since I know where the 2 geysers are. World seed: 1513845703 Here is a reference to a 1300+ cycle base that is self-sustainable. Need airlock which pumps out the unwanted gases to an area that doesn't interrupt the passage of duplicants. Crops need to be planted in a constantly oxygenated room that is closed to compose.

Seems to me thermo regulator could be the key to survival. Spent hours running all over the base to get things supplied. Maybe it is better to use air and water pumps to deliver things to the doorstep. Updates: Need to stop all heat producing machines when the temperature of the water gets too hot. Need to have a second pool of water at normal temperature when no more water is being supplied. The duplicants work based on priority. Sometimes they don't do the most critical job like making mush bar. Why there is irrigation issue when water is supplying constantly? Build an irrigation farm of mealwood first. Easiest to maintain. Mealwood needs polluted water as irrigation ? Mealwood optimal yield Set the food amount to eat for each duplicant ?

Features of this build: The vomit point is where the duplicants are suffering from lack of oxygen when they just emerge from the carbon dioxide filled underground farm. Then probably use the polluted water to create the fertilizer.  What could have been done: It is probably better to have the toilets and basins build at the extreme sides of the colony for duplicants to clean themselves before entering.  Try to use less dirt, because it is a finite resource. Died when the duplicant is unable to get enough food in time. The plants are not planted in optimal locations.
